HONOLULU - The Arizona State women's swimming and diving team defeated the University of Hawaii this Friday 177-123 in their season opener. The women are now 1-0.

The Sun Devils were led by returning All-American senior and team co-captain Caitlin Andrew. Andrew finished first in the 100 back (56.93) and 100 fly (53.99) as well as had a hand in the 200 medley and 200 free winning relay teams.

Fellow captain Lindsey Brown also had a solid day for the Sun Devils. Brown finished first in the 100 free clocking in a 51.75 and the 200 free touching in at 1:51.45 She also placed third in the 50 free, with a time of 24.25.

Ashton Aubry, Rikka Brunner Jess Perazzo and Sara McDaniel also earned victories. Aubry won her 200 butterfly race with (2:03.88) while Perazzo took first in the 50 free (24.14). Brunner placed first in the women's 200 back holding a time of (2:01.98). McDaniel won the 100 breast (1:04.78).

The Sun Devils compete against the University of Hawai'i again tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. HT.
