St. George, Utah - The top-ranked Arizona State women's golf team is currently in third place after the second round of the 2007 NCAA West Regional. ASU, the top seed in the West Regional, shot a 12-over 296 in the second round for a two-round total of 22-over 590 at the par-71, 6,234-yard Estrada at Snow Canyon Country Club.
Individually, freshman Juliana Murcia leads the Sun Devils and is currently tied for third place. Murcia, one of only four golfers to shoot even par or better, shot even par in the second round for a two round total of 2-over 144 (73-71). Freshman Anna Nordqvist is tied for ninth after shooting a two-round total of 4-over 146 (72-74). Sophomore All-American Azahara Munoz shot a two-round total of 7-over 149 (75-74) to tie for 23rd. Sophomore All-American Jennifer Osborn shot a two-round total of 9-over 151 (74-77) to tie for 32nd. Senior Lindsay Anderson is currently tied for 79th after shooting a two-round total of 162 (81-81).
Oklahoma State moved into first place after shooting a two-round total of 13-over 581 (291-290). Oklahoma State's Pernilla Lindberg continues to lead all golfers at 6-under par (68-68).
The top eight teams and two individuals from the NCAA West Regional, hosted by BYU, will qualify for the 2007 Division I Women's Golf Championships to be held May 22-25 at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
