SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Arizona State women's gymnastics team posted its highest away score of the season, but were defeated 196.650-194.950 by the No. 5 Utah Utes. Sophomore Nicole Harris placed third in the all-around with a score of 39.375 behind Utah's Nicolle Ford and Ashley Postell, who tied for first with 39.550. Senior Cassandra Jusino placed fourth with a 39.150. April Boone also competed in the all-around, finishing with a score of 39.000.
Leading off on bars, the Sun Devils posted their third highest score of the season with 48.950. Boone and Harris were the top Sun Devil scorers tying for third with scores of 9.875. Harris' score ties her season-high. Jusino posted a solid 9.825 on the apparatus. Sophomore Tiana Jean recorded the next highest score for the Sun Devils, a 9.750. Senior Lisa Lanza and sophomore Ashley Toner each tallied 9.625s in the event. Utah won the apparatus with a 49.325.
On vault, ASU tallied a 48.775. Boone led the Devils taking fourth with a 9.875. Jusino and Harris tied for fifth with solid scores of 9.850. Sophomores Vanessa Rocca and Ashlee Hinkle also added to the Sun Devils vault score posting 9.625 and 9575 respectively. The Utes posted a 49.500 to win the event.
On floor, the Sun Devils recorded their third best score of the year with a 48.875 to win the event. Boone continued her consistency, scoring her third 9.875. Jean improved her career-high for the fourth time this season with a 9.825. Harris also had a solid routine, tying Jean for third place with a 9.825. Jusino and Toner also added to ASU's floor total with scores of 9.750 and 9.600. Utah finished with a 48.525.
The Sun Devils ended their final meet of the regular season on beam with a team total of 48.350. Harris led the Devils on beam with a 9.825. Jean continued to her steadiness with a 9.775. Jusino recorded a solid 9.725. Toner also added to the Sun Devils' beam score with a 9.650. The Sun Devils had to count a fall as both Boone (9.325) and Rocca (8.950) fell. This was Boone's first fall on beam this season. The Utes won beam with a score of 49.300.
