TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Briann January scored 14 points and had four steals to lead No. 13 Arizona State past No. 18 New Mexico 67-49 Sunday.

The Sun Devils (2-0) used an 11-0 run in the first three minutes of the second half to pull away.

Brandi Kimble had 14 points and Julie Briody added 12 for the Lobos (1-1).

The Sun Devils forced 26 turnovers and converted them into 19 points.

Arizona State also held New Mexico leading scorer Dionne Marsh to eight points, two in the first half. Marsh, who was 1-for-7 from the field, averaged 15.9 points a game last season and had 13 in Friday's season-opening win over Florida Atlantic.

Emily Westerberg scored 12 points, all in the second half, and had six during the key second half run for the Sun Devils. She added five rebounds as Arizona State outrebounded New Mexico 38-32.

The Sun Devils led by as much as 25 and none of the starters played more than 22 minutes.

Kayli Murphy added 10 points and four rebounds off the bench for Arizona State.

New Mexico missed its first five shots of the second half and was 7-of-25 for the half. The Lobos hit 15-of-45 shots in the game.
