AUSTIN, Texas - The Arizona State University women's golf team stands in eighth place after the first round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, being held March 11-13 at the par 72, 6,323-yard University of Texas Golf Club.
The Sun Devils carded a 27-over 315 in Friday's first round and stands 11 strokes behind tournament leader Nebraska (302) and four strokes out of fifth place. Duke is second after shooting a 19-over 307 on Friday, while Arkansas (309), Oklahoma State (310) and Tulsa (311) round out the top five.
Individually, freshman Louise Stahle and sophomore Charmaine Erasmus are tied for 18th after carding five-over 77s on Friday, while sophomore Tiffany Tavee and freshman Brooke Todare shot 79s in the first round to tie for 26th. Junior Alissa Kuczka is tied for 56th (82), and senior Erin Tone is tied for 75th (84).
Nebraska's Elli Brown is the individual leader after one round at the Longhorn Invitational, carding a two-under 70 on Friday. She holds a one-stroke advantage over Tulsa's Lee Ann Pace (71).
