The Arizona State men's basketball team won its opener 70-58 over the Carleton Ravens on Thursday behind newcomer Antwi Atuahene's 16 points.

ASU placed four players in double digits, as Kevin Kruger added 11 points and six assists and Serge Angounou and Bryson Krueger had 10 each. Craig Austin grabbed nine boards while Allen Morill added eight rebounds.

ASU led 29-22 at the half as all eight players scored at least one field goal in the first 20 minutes. Atuahene had 12 points in the second half for ASU, who will host the University of Alberta on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in its final exhibition before opening regular season play Nov. 23 against Southern Utah.

Eight players saw action for the Sun Devils, with all of them playing at least 12 minutes. Kevin Kruger played all 40 minutes, while Atuahene played 31.

ASU led by as much as 13 in the second half. Carleton University, the three-time defending Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Champions, cut the lead to 51-48 with 5:39 remaining but Arizona State scored the next nine points to secure the victory.

Arizona State went on a 16-2 run in the first half to open up a 25-14 advantage with 6:21 left.
