Eugene, Ore. - The Sun Devil Volleyball team, led by libero Sydney Donahue's 33 digs, knocked off the Oregon Ducks in Eugene to finish the 2005 season with a 3-1 victory. Donahue entered the night needing only seven digs to break the school record of 601. Donahue finishes the season with 628 digs.

With the win, the Sun Devils finish the year with an 8-20 mark, including a 3-15 conference record. The win over the Ducks was the 16th straight against them.

ASU won a back and forth game one 30-26. The opening game saw 12 tie scores, and six lead changes. Game two was controlled by the Sun Devils, as they took a 2-0 advantage in the match with a 30-26 win. The third game was a hard fought extra points battle, as the two squads endured 16 ties and eight lead changes before the Ducks emerged with a 34-32 edge. Game four saw the Sun Devils pull out a 30-27 win, to give them the match.

Arizona State was led by Nicole Morton, who posted a double-double with 22 kills and 10 digs. Giovana Melo had 63 assists for the Devils, as the senior made her final appearance of her career. Margie Giordano helped pace the Sun Devils with four service aces on the evening. The Devils totaled 10 aces on the night, while the Ducks could only manage one.
