TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Kristen Kovesdy had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 20 Arizona State to a 69-54 victory over Missouri in the championship game of the WBCA/BTI Classic on Saturday night.
LaToya Bond led the Tigers with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, but the Sun Devils (2-0) shut down the rest of the Missouri squad, which shot just 11-for-37.
Arizona State led 29-22 at the half and started the second half with a 10-4 run. Missouri (1-1) missed five of seven shots. The Sun Devils led by as many as 16 points in the second half.
Christelle N'Garsanet added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers, which beat Clemson 78-54 in their opener on Friday.
Emily Westerberg added 12 points and six rebounds for Arizona State, which beat No. 17 Vanderbilt 69-60 in its opener on Friday.
The Sun Devils outrebounded Missouri 38-29 and their reserves outscored the Tigers' subs 22-8.
Jill Noe, who is coming off knee injuries that kept her off the court for two years, scored six points and led the team with four assists in 19 minutes.
