DALLAS, Texas - The Arizona State University men's swimming and diving team had eight swimmers and one diver in competition for the final day of the Dallas Morning News Classic Saturday evening at the Perkins Natatorium in Dallas, Texas. The Sun Devils finished in fourth-place with 248 points.

Opening up competition for the men's team was the 400 freestyle relay team of Richie Crowder, Pat Fleming, Jeff Barrett and Bobby Crowder, finishing in a time of 3:05.55. Next in the water for the Sun Devils was Lucas Azevedo and David Kolozar swimming the 500 freestyle. Azevedo finished fourth overall (4:30.87) while Kolozar came in ninth (4:32.34).

Bobby Crowder took sixth overall in the 200 backstroke followed by CJ Nuess taking third in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:03.12 as Emerson Ward finished in eighth-place (2:03.97).

In the diving pool, Brant Bingham took fourth-place in the 3-meter springboard event with a score of 303.80.

Barrett took to the water again in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 45.30 to take third-place overall.

Kolozar took home ASU's lone first-place finish in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:47.79. Nuess claimed his second third-place honor of the evening, finishing the 200 IM in 1:50.89.

Rounding out the Classic for the Sun Devil swimmers was the 200 freestyle relay team of Richie Crowder, Fleming, Barrett, Azevedo. The relay team finished in sixth-place with a time of 1:24.16.

The ASU swimming and diving teams return home next weekend to take on Pac-10 foes Stanford and California. The Sun Devils take on the Cardinals Friday, January 21, at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The men's meet begins at 12 p.m. and the women will hit the water at 2 p.m.
