TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State track and field team traveled to Flagstaff, Ariz., for the Mountain T Invitational Saturday and returned to Tempe after 10 of its members won their events and recorded nine marks that met the provisional standards for the NCAA Championships. The men paced the Sun Devils with five of the nine victories as well as six of the 10 provisionals.

The men's sprints shined on the day as the 4x400m relay team of Kelvin Love, Jason Barton, Seth Amoo and Domenik Peterson combined to clock in at 3:06.93 to win the event and meet the NCAA standards. The quartet almost qualified automatically, missing the top standard by 0.83 seconds. Three of the men also earned provisional marks in individual events, including Love (21.15) and Amoo (21.20) in the 200m dash and Peterson (46.36) in the 400m dash. In the field, Brandon Glenn cleared 5.36m in the pole vault to provisionally qualify and win the event while Travis Jones' mark of 17.82m in the shot put also provisionally qualified him for the national indoor championship meet.

Kandace Tucker was victorious in the 200m dash (23.61) to meet the provisional standard, as did teammate Porchea Carroll (23.72) in the same event. A pair of shot put throwers also met the provisional standards in their event as Julia Pedersen won the event with a mark of 16.45m while Jennifer Kowacz, who finished fifth, recorded a mark of 15.85m.

Other victories recorded in the meet for the Sun Devils included Carroll winning the preliminaries of the 60m dash in 7.43 while the women's 4x400m relay took top honors at 3:45.10. On the men's side, Amoo won the preliminaries of the 60m dash at 6.75 while Derek Pisel captured the 800m event in 1:53.09.

Three meets await the Sun Devils next weekend with all three running Feb. 11-12. The multi-event athletes will return to Flagstaff for the Lumberjack Multi-Events while others will compete in the Husky Invitational in Seattle, Wash. The remaining team members will head to Boise, Idaho, for the Holiday Inn Team Invitational.
