BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Arizona State University women's swimming and diving team improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating Indiana, 156.5-142.5, Saturday afternoon at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind. While Indiana won 10 of 16 events titles, the Sun Devils depth proved to be too much for the Hoosiers.

Freshman Sarah A Fischer started off the day for ASU in the first individual event, touching the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:11.18) while Kathryn Hennessy followed to grab the runner-up slot (10:13.61). The Sun Devils dominated the 100-yard breaststroke event claiming the top three spots as Heidi Schmidt led the field with a time of 1:04.89. Christine Creek and Sally Brown rounded out the top three with times of 1:06.57 and 1:09.09 respectively.

Caitlin Andrew claimed another event for ASU as she touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming an NCAA provisional time of 51.21. The Sun Devil ladies again showed their dominance in the 200-yard breaststroke as they earned the top two finishes with Schmidt in first in 2:20.73 and Creek in second in 2:22.04. Andrew earned another first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, coming in at 55.85. The 200-yard IM featured the most exciting race of the meet as Brown and Indiana's Kristen Bradley touched at 2:04.53 to share the event title between the squads.

In the diving pool, Trisha Tumlinson claimed the title for the Sun Devils on the one-meter springboard with a score of 280.65. Cassidy Farwell took third for ASU in the three-meter event with a 243.00 while Tumlinson finished fourth with a 235.05.
