COLLEGE STATION, Texas. - Arizona State junior ?gnes Kov?cs finished in sixth place in the 100m breaststroke during the second night of action at the NCAA Championships with a time of 1:07.37, earning first-team All-American honors for the second day in a row. The team remains in 15th place with a total of 70 points with one day to go at the Student Rec Center Natatorium.

In the 800m freestyle relay, the Sun Devils turned in a stunning performance and finished eighth, earning the foursome first-team All-American honors. Senior Petra Banovic, junior Florencia Szigeti, Kov?cs and freshman Amanda Gillespie utterly destroyed the previous school record as they turned in a time of 8:00.69. The time converted to a short course yards equivalent figures to 7:10.69, bettering the previous mark that had stood since 1988 by almost seven seconds.

The 200m freestyle saw Szigeti win the consolation final with a school-record time of 1:58.48 to finish ninth overall. The time converts to a 1:46.15 which betters the school record of 1:46.46 she set at the Pac-10 Championships in February.

The 2004 NCAA Championships conclude tomorrow. Scores after the first two days are as follows:
