TEMPE, Ariz. - Two school records and several NCAA qualifying standards were recorded on the final day of road competition Saturday as members of the Arizona State track and field teams participated in three separate meets on the day. Sun Devils competed at the Tyson Foods Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., the Pac-10 Indoor Invitational in Seattle and the Holiday Inn Invitational in Boise, Idaho.

At the Tyson Foods meet, the men's 4x400m relay of Jason Barton, Domenik Peterson, Seth Amoo and Lewis Banda established the school record in the event as they clocked a 3:06.06 to finish second in the race behind winner TCU (3:06.03). The Sun Devils' time is the second-fastest in the nation this year.

In Seattle, Amy Hastings finished sixth in a very fast 5,000m run to set the school mark at 16:06.91. Her mark also goes as an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championships. Also in the race, Desiree Davila finished eighth in 16:34.28 (provisional) to move into fourth place on the all-time ASU list. Alvina Begay and Liz Lindgren also competed in the event with times of 17:09.45 and 17:48.62, respectively. In the women's mile run, Anna Masinelli (4:54.51) and Jessie McLaughlin (4:55.17) recorded the fourth and fifth-fastest times in school history, respectively. In the field, Jennifer Kowacz earned another provisional mark in the shot put, throwing 15.59m (51-1.75) in the event to finish second.

On the men's side in the Pac-10 Invitational, five runners set Top 5 marks with Casey Burchill leading the way. Burchill, a mid-season transfer from Colorado, clocked a provisional mark of 14:09.95 in the 5,000m run to move into second all-time at ASU. J.J. Duke also improved his No. 4 spot in the 5,000m run with a 14:24.57. In the 800m run, Jeff Dodge and Jay DeGroot took control of third (1:51.91) and fourth (1:52.12) in the event while Ryan Warrenburg moved into fourth in the 3,000m run at 8:15.84.

At the Holiday Inn Invitational, freshman Jacquelyn Johnson swept the pentathlon events to score 4,044 points and missing an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships by six points. Her score is the only in the nation to break the 4,000-point plateau this season. In the individual events, Johnson won the 60m hurdles (8.56), high jump (1.75m/5-9.00), shot put (11.27m/36-11.75), long jump (5.75m/18-10.25) and 800m run (2:26.51) to secure the win in her first multi-event as a collegiate athlete.

In the long jump, the Sun Devils swept both the men's and women's events with Trevell Quinley (7.49m/24-7.00) and Porchea Carroll (5.87m/19-3.25) taking gold, respectively. Brandon Glenn continued his recent success in the pole vault with a runner-up finish as he cleared 17 feet for the third meet in a row as he climbed to 5.21m (17-1.00). Stephen Dolk finished third in the pole vault at 4.91m (16-1.25).

Next weekend, Arizona State returns to the road when it travels as a full squad to the Air Force Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo., Feb. 21.
