TEMPE, Ariz. -- Defending national champion and No. 1 USC defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils in three games (30-21, 30-21, 30-12) in front of 1,114 fans Saturday night in Pac-10 Volleyball action at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Women of Troy improved their flawless record to 24-0 overall (15-0 in conference) and the Sun Devils fell to 8-15 overall (3-11 in conference). The Trojans have now won 36 straight matches dating back to last season.

Senior outside hitter Juliana Escobar and sophomore Sarah Watkins each tallied eight kills for the Sun Devils. Senior libero Courtney Blocher led the Devils with nine digs and Escobar added eight. Senior Cheryl Anglin and Junior Giovana Melo had 17 and 14 assists respectively. Junior Stephanie Kohner recorded her first career block as a Sun Devil in the third game against USC.

The Women of Troy were led by junior Keao Burdine who had 10 kills, two service aces and eight digs. Freshman setter Kimi Freeburg led USC with 21 assists and senior Toni Anderson added 20 in the victory. Senior All-American outside hitter April Ross added nine kills, while senior libero Nicole Davis led USC with 10 digs. Local high school product, junior Emily Adams, had a game-high three solo blocks for the Women of Troy.

The Sun Devils will travel to Oregon State and Oregon next weekend for their final road matches of the season. ASU will close out its regular season at home Nov. 21-22 against Washington State (5 p.m.) and Washington (7 p.m.).
