QUOTING ASU HEAD COACH Rob Evans
"I am glad we won the ball game tonight, but I am not happy with the way the game was played. It was unacceptable in my opinion. Young guys are excited for the first game and things go well, they start to feel pretty good about themselves. They felt pretty good about themselves tonight, but we will take care of that."
"When you are not mentally ready for the game, it's hard to play well. We missed a lot of shots. We were 28-47 from the free throw line and that is unacceptable."
"We saw the zone Saturday and we shouldn't be bothered by it. Teams are going to play the zone on us, and we are going to have to play through it. I thought Justin Allen came into the game and played real well for us. He is an experienced player, and we needed some experience out there on defense, and when he came in he did that for us. He doesn't play as much as he would like to, but I know that whenever I call on him he is always ready to go."
"Wilfried Fameni is going to be a good player. It is good for us to get him out there and get him some experience. He played very well tonight. Jamal Hill and Jason Braxton played very well tonight. Jamal really opened up on offense."
"When we have a 15-point lead late in the game, all we need to do is defend guys, and grab rebounds. We didn't do that tonight, and we kept them right in the game. If we rebound and defend, we win games."
