  • The All-Time Series: With the 34-14 win over Northern Arizona Saturday night, the Sun Devils improved to 17-4-1 all-time against the Lumberjacks. They are also 10-6-2 in home games against NAU and earned a win in the first meeting between the schools in 53 years.
  • Devils in Season Openers: ASU now holds a 62-27-2 all-time record in season openers and a 42-15-1 record when opening a season at home. The Sun Devils have won four of their last five season openers and 14 of their last 18. ASU has now won its last three and seven of its last eight season openers at home, including a 31-13 victory over Texas Tech in 1999 and a 38-7 victory over San Diego State in 2001.
  • Oliver's 100-yard TD Interception: The 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by junior cornerback R.J. Oliver (Escondido, Calif.) tied the school record set by teammate Emmanuel Franklin (Houston, Texas). Franklin set the school record with his 100-yard return against San Diego State, also in the season opener in 2001.
  • A Note About Punt Returns: The 42-yard punt return by sophomore Josh Golden (Westlake Village, Calif.) in the second quarter is 11 yards longer than ASU's longest punt return in 2002. Daryl Lightfoot (Phoenix, Ariz.) had a 31-yarder last year against North Carolina (10/5/02). Golden finished the game with four punt returns for 75 yards (18.8 avg).
  • Walter Continues Hot Streak: For the fifth time in his career, junior QB Andrew Walter threw four or more touchdowns. Walter was an efficient 15-for-24 for 224 yards and did not throw an interception. For his career, Walter has now thrown for 4,647 yards on 327 completions.
  • M and M: Sophomore wide receiver Moey Mutz (Livermore, Calif.) led all Sun Devils with 75 yards receiving on three catches. He hauled in TD receptions of 29 and 38 yards from junior QB Andrew Walter (Grand Junction, Colo.)
  • Spreading the Wealth at WR: Seven different Sun Devils caught at least one pass in the win over NAU. Senior Skyler Fulton (Olympia, Wash.) led the corps with a career-high-tying six receptions for 59 yards (9.8 avg.). Sophomore Derek Hagan also had three receptions for 55 yards and caught one TD pass for 40 yards.
  • Sun Devil Tidbits: Redshirt freshman Loren Wade (Gardena, Calif.) caught an eight-yard TD pass in the first quarter to put ASU on the board and score his first career TD... Wade finished with a team-high 64 yards on 11 carries (5.8 avg.)... freshman QB Sam Keller (Danville, Calif.) made his ASU debut, going 1-for-2 for 10 yards... senior punter Tim Parker (Chula Vista, Calif.) totaled 227 yards on five punts for a 45.4 average... Parker also boomed a 66 yarder in fourth quarter... Fulton tied his career high with six receptions, matching the six he had at Washington State last year.
  • Lumberjack Notes: NAU senior wide receiver Clarence Moore (Buena Park, Calif.) caught his 17th career TD pass on the opening drive to rank tied for fifth in school history... he also notched his eighth career 100-yard receiving game... Moore finished with 157 yards receiving on nine catches with one TD... freshman QB Jason Murrietta (Glendale, Ariz.) went 21-for-35 for 292 yards with two TD's and one INT in his first start at the collegiate level.
