TEMPE, Ariz. - Behind two Elizabeth Bogus goals and another super defensive effort, the Arizona State soccer team (5-1-2) notched their fourth straight shutout by defeating the University of Georgia, 2-0, Friday night in front of a crowd of 1,142 at the UGA Soccer/Softball Complex in Athens, Georgia. It was the first time the Bulldogs (3-5-1) have been shut out in the 2002 season.

Arizona State got its first goal in the 14th minute as the Sun Devils' leading scorer, freshman Elizabeth Bogus, broke past the Georgia defenders and netted her fourth goal of the season. Freshman midfielder Manya Makoski assisted on the goal for her third of the year, tying for the team high. ASU held on to the 1-0 lead at the end of the first half, out shooting Georgia 6-4.

Bogus added her team-leading fifth goal in the 71st minute off of another breakaway, increasing the Sun Devils' lead to 2-0.

Shots were even at 11 apiece overall. Sophomore goalkeeper Kelly Fitzgerald made three saves for her career-best fourth shutout.

Up next, Arizona State will stay in Athens, Georgia to face Auburn on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. (Arizona time).
