TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Chad Prewitt scored a career-high 33 points, including 21 in the second half, and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Arizona State past Washington 86-74 Saturday in Pac-10 play. Prewitt's 33 points is the most by a Sun Devil since Eddie House scored 40 vs. UCLA on Feb. 17, 2000, a span of 59 games.

Washington (8-15, 2-11) cut the Sun Devils' eight-point halftime lead to three, 55-52, with 12:47 left but Prewitt scored twice, Shawn Redhage added another and Kyle Dodd capped the run with a 19-footer to give Arizona State a 63-52 advantage with 9:55 left. Washington, which has lost four in a row, never got closer than seven the rest of the way.

Doug Wrenn had 30 for the Huskies, who have lost 12 straight at the Arizona schools. Washington has been swept at the Arizona schools in 12 of the last 14 seasons and has a combined 2-28 record in Arizona since 1989.

Arizona State split with the Huskies this season, losing 81-68 in Seattle, on Jan. 10.

Curtis Millage added 17 and Tommy Smith 14 for the Sun Devils (13-9, 6-7). Arizona State outrebounded Washington 40-25 and held the Huskies to 44 percent shooting (23 of 52).

David Dixon and C.J. Massingale each added 11 for Washington.

In the first half, Arizona State went on a 14-0 run to take a 25-13 lead midway through the half, but Washington answered with a 9-0 spurt of its own to close to 25-22 with 6:31 remaining before halftime.
