FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Arizona State indoor track and field came away with six meet titles and NCAA provisional qualifying efforts by seniors Tony Galaviz and David Wood, as the majority of the Sun Devil squad competed at the Mountain T's Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz., Saturday.

In his 2002 debut, Galaviz won the men's 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 7.75 (altitude adjusted), an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that shaved six-hundredths of a second off his school record set last season (7.81). Wood's effort of 61 feet, 2.75 inches tied for third in the men's shot put, a mark that ranks third all-time in ASU indoor history, besting last season's high of 56-5.25.

ASU's women won a total of four meet titles, highlighted by a one-two Sun Devil finish in the 400m. Senior Candida Coulson crossed the finish line first in 55.38, followed by junior Joni Smith in second in 55.59.

Sophomore Jodi Smith, back on the track after a season lay-off due to injury, won the women's high jump, clearing the bar at five feet, eight inches. In the "B" heat of the women's mile, sophomore Alvina Begay took first place honors with an altitude adjusted time of 5:18.13.

ASU swept first place finishes in both the men's and women's 4x400m relay races, as the men clocked a winning time of 3:11.58 and the women recorded a time of 3:46.74. Additional meet highlights included junior Tiffany Greer's time of 7.50 (altitude adjusted) in the prelims of the 60m, a personal best that moves her from third to second on ASU's all-time indoor list. Greer went on to place third in the finals in 7.57 (altitude adjusted) and third in the women's long jump (19-0.50).

Freshman Seth Amoo placed third in the men's 200m in 21.32, the second fastest indoor 200m in ASU history.

While most of the Sun Devils were competing in Flagstaff today, ASU's top distance runners were competing in day two of the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa. Results from the conclusion of that meet are expected later this evening. Full results of the Mountain T's Invitational can be accessed at www.nauathletics.com.
