AUSTIN, Texas -- The 20th-ranked Arizona State women's swimming and diving team stayed in fifth-place after the second day of competition at the Texas Invitational. ?gnes Kov?cs again provided an excellent performance for the Sun Devils, as she became only the second ASU women's swimmer in school history to swim the 100 breaststroke in under a minute (59.92). She garnered the only first-place finish on the day for ASU. The school record is held by fellow Hungarian swimmer Beata Kaszuba (59.71, 1995).

In the diving pool, Trisha Tumlinson finished second in the 1-meter springboard with a 291.95, setting a new Sun Devil record in the process. She bested current teammate Jessica Stenson's 287.10 that was recorded last season.

In the 200 freestyle, Petra Banovic touched the wall in 1:48.70, which is the fastest time for ASU this season and an NCAA "B" time. She finished fifth. In the same event, Florencia Szigeti finished 10th (1:49.06), which is also a "B" standard and the second fastest time by a Devil this campaign.

The 200-medley relay squad managed a fourth-place finish and an NCAA consideration time (1:42.38). This was the fifth-fastest time in Sun Devil history. The 800 free relay team also notched an NCAA "B" time (7:23.50) on their way to a fourth-place finish as well.
