TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman Elizabeth Bogus' goal in the 20th minute of action was all the Arizona State soccer team (9-3-2; 2-2 Pac-10) needed as they posted their sixth shutout of the year with a 1-0 victory over Oregon State (7-7-2; 0-5 Pac-10) Friday afternoon in Corvallis, Oregon. Bogus' goal was her team-leading eighth and sixth game-winner this season, moving her into third place all-time in Sun Devil history.
The Sun Devils started a season-high six freshmen, while a trio of them helped to produce the only goal. The score was set up when Haley Stein sent a cross pass to the near post, where it was flicked on just past OSU keeper Jo Fletcher by Manya Makoski and tapped in for the game-winner by Bogus. Makoski's assist was her team-leading sixth, while Stein's was her third. For the game, Kelly Fitzgerald made seven saves.
