CORVALLIS, Ore. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Senior middle blocker Julia Leddy capped off stellar weekend with 18 kills on a .471 hitting percentage as the No. 21 Arizona State Volleyball team completed a sweep of the Oregon schools with a 3-1 victory over the Oregon State Beavers Saturday night in Pac-10 volleyball action at Gill Coliseum. Game scores were 31-29, 30-28, 21-30, 30-28 in favor of the Sun Devils.

With the victory the Sun Devils improved to 10-4 overall and with a 6-3 record at the completion of the first round of Pac-10 volleyball action have more conference wins than all of last year (5-13 in 2001). The Beavers fell to 6-12 overall and 1-8 in Pac-10 play with the loss.

Leddy (Mesa, Ariz.) added to her 22-kill match against Oregon Friday night with a team-high 18 vs. the Beavers to finish the weekend with 40 kills (4.44 kpg) on a .500 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Juliana Escobar (Brasilia, Brazil) recorded her 10th double-double of the year with 15 kills and 18 digs. Escobar averaged 4.67 kpg over the two matches vs. Oregon and Oregon State.

Junior libero Courtney Blocher tied for the team lead with 18 digs and junior setter Cheryl Anglin had 48 assists. Anglin, junior Jodi Smith and Leddy each had four blocks as the Devils out-blocked the Beavers 14.0-12.0 and out-hit OSU .229-.210.

The Sun Devils continue on the road this Friday with a 7 p.m. match against rival Arizona at McKale Center in Tucson. --Sun Devil Volleyball--
