TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State women's diving squad got their dual meet season underway, defeating the New Mexico Lobos 12-7 in a single diving event. The event featured divers from each school competing on a combined six dives from the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform.
ASU transfer sophomore Trisha Tumlinson finished first in the meet with a score of 319.50. Becca Barras finished second for the Lobos with a score of 271.50.
Other ASU finishes included Jessica Stenson finishing fourth (232.13) and Nicole Zukowski finishing fifth (196.88). New Mexico's other two divers were Tracey Berghian in third (233.78) and Kaley Knafelc in sixth (157.20). Lina Schuetz scored a 191.10 for the Sun Devils, but only the top three divers from each school counted towards the team point total.
Two ASU men divers participated in the meet with their scores not counting toward the team total. Thomas McCrummen scored a 255.15 and Brant Bingham earned a 238.80. Finnish Olympian Joona Puhakka did not compete for the ASU men and Kristin Littell did not dive for the ASU women. --Sun Devil Swimming & Diving--
