FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Arizona State's men's track and field squad swept in-state rivals Northern Arizona and Arizona, while the ASU women's squad defeated NAU but fell to Arizona by just one point in the annual Indoor Track and Field Double Dual in Flagstaff, Ariz., Thursday.

ASU's men topped NAU 86.5-68.5, while edging Arizona 80.5-76.5. The ASU women took care of NAU handily 94-54, but came away just shy of defeating the Wildcats 78-77. Both Arizona teams picked up wins against NAU, with the men winning 83-72 and the women winning 92-54.

The Sun Devil men captured first place honors in eight events, highlighted by freshman Seth Amoo's double in the 60m and 200m. Amoo's 200m time of 21.19 was an NCAA provisional qualifying time. ASU finished one-two in the 60m, with junior Luiz Mello finishing second in 6.82 (altitude adjusted) behind Amoo's winning time of 6.79 (altitude adjusted).

Senior David Wood won the shot put with an NCAA automatic qualifying effort and personal best of 63 feet, 3.25 inches. Senior Tony Galaviz won the 60m hurdles in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.79 (altitude adjusted), though not his season-best in the event.

Other winners on the men's side included senior Brandon Strong in the mile (4:07.79 altitude adjusted), junior Casey Clark in the high jump (6-11), freshman Trevell Quinley in the long jump (24-5.5) and the men's 4x400m relay team (3:10.53).

ASU's women took home first place honors in six events, led by junior Tiffany Greer's NCAA provisional qualifying performance in the women's long jump, a season-best leap of 20 feet, 4.5 inches. The Sun Devils also took the top two places in the 400m and the mile. Junior Joni Smith won the 400m, crossing the finish line in 55.10, just ahead of senior Candida Coulson (55.56). In the mile, junior Lisa Aguilera took first in 4:59.35 followed by junior Brianna Torres in 5:06.23.

Also winning meet titles were sophomore Seneca Holmes in the 60m hurdles (8.49 altitude adjusted), sophomore Jodi Smith in the high jump (5-7) and the women's 4x400m relay team (3:44.77).

Up next for ASU track and field will be the MPSF Championships held in Flagstaff, Friday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 23.
