TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Center Billy Feeney scored a game-high 20 points to lead Portland State 79-69 over Arizona State in coach Joel Sobotka's homecoming Tuesday.
Vikings coach Sobotka attended Arizona State and was a student assistant coach under Bill Frieder in 1993.
Anthony Lackey scored 18 points and Aaron Fitzgerald had 16 as Portland State scored the final 14 points after losing a six-point lead in the last 2:31 of regulation and falling behind by four points in overtime.
The Vikings, 2-0, after road victories over Boise State and Arizona State, were 1-15 on the road last season.
Tommy Smith scored 12 of his team-high 14 points in the second half for Arizona State (1-1).
