Chad Prewitt will enter this year with a career-high 23 points on his resume last year vs. Charlotte, but Monday night the senior center showed how productive he can be this year with a 37-point performance on 10-of-15 shooting. Prewitt also was 15-of-19 from the line and made two three-pointers as ASU won 106-89 over the EA Sports All-Stars.
Tommy Smith added 16 points and Curtis Millage had 15 points, 13 of them in the second half, on 7-of-9 shooting. ASU had 25 assists, six by Kyle Dodd, and shot 59.7 percent (40-of-67) for the game, including 21-of-32 (.656) in the second half.
Kenny Crandall had eight points in eight minutes in the first half, including two three-pointers.
Ten Sun Devils played at least 10 minutes.
EA Sports had beaten BYU, New Mexico and Air Force and lost a five-point game at Utah.
ASU opens its season Saturday at 11:30 vs. Stephen F. Austin.
