TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State All-American Stacey Tullock tallied the game-winning goal in the 74th minute of action as the Sun Devils (7-6, 2-3 Pac-10) gained a huge Pac-10 win on the road in Pullman, Washington with a 2-1 win over Washington State (6-6, 1-3 Pac-10).
Just 2:58 into the match, WSU junior Katrina Stroh knocked in a goal on a wild play, rebounding a shot by freshman Meghan Cecchini and sliding the ball by ASU freshman goalkeeper Kelly Fitzgerald.
Arizona State tied the game at the 34:16 mark on a header from the top of the box by freshman Kathleen Dely. Tullock provided the assist off of a free kick. The tally was Dely's second of the season
Washington State took 10 more shots in the second stanza, including four on goal, but could not convert. That set the stage for Tullock's game-winning goal in the 74th minute.
The Sun Devils took the lead off of another free kick, this time senior Antoinette Marjanovic passing to a streaking Tullock, who shot just past the outstretched arms of Cougar goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen. The goal was Tullock's 50th in her stellar career, as well as her 16th game-winner.
Fitzgerald posted her second Pac-10 win of the year.
Up next, Arizona State travels to Seattle to face 16th-ranked Washington on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
