TEMPE, Ariz. - In another defensive struggle, the Arizona State soccer team (6-4-0) fell in a tight match, this time to the University of San Diego (7-3-0), 1-0, Sunday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer match at USD's Torero Stadium. USD posted 10 shots to ASU's eight, while USD recorded 23 fouls to the Sun Devils 10.

Torero Freshmen midfielder Andrea Keesling scored on a free kick at the 36th minute of the first half to net the game's only goal.

However, with nine minutes left in the second half, the Sun Devils had a chance to tie the game, but Stephanie Peel's shot hit the top post and USD goalie Leila Duren managed to secure the rebound.

Up next, Arizona State will start Pac-10 play as they travel to Southern California to take on USC on Friday, October 12 at 3:00 p.m. and UCLA on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
