Men's Pac-10 Swimming Championships Begin Wednesday

TEMPE, Ariz. (www.thesundevils.com) -- Arizona State University men's swimming will compete in the Pac-10 Championships Wednesday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. Last week, the women competed in the Pac-10s in Long Beach, Calif. and finished in sixth place while the men's and women's diving Pac-10 Championships were held in Federal Way, Wash. as well.

Last season, the men's team finished fifth at the Pac-10s with a score of 311.5 and it went on to finish 20th at the NCAAs. Last season, C.J. Nuess (Medical Lake, Wash.) finished in seventh place in the 400-yard IM at the Pac-10s. In the 1650-yard freestyle, Lucas Azevedo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) swam into eighth place for the Sun Devils recording a time of 15:22.47. Leo Martins (Garanhuns-PE, Brazil) touched the wall in 1:59.66 to capture fifth place in 200-yard breaststroke at the Pac-10s last season. In the 200-yard butterfly, David Kolozar (Budapest, Hungary) took sixth place with a time of 1:45.84.

The men's Pac-10 Swimming Championships continue through to March 4 in Federal Way, Wash. at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
