Junior golfer Jesper Kennegard has earned PING All-America third-team honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on June 9. Kennegard had previously earned honorable mention honors in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Kennegard had four top-10 finishes this year, including a tournament championship at the Southern Highlands Masters, the third of his career. He tied for eighth at both the Battle at the Beach and the USC Invitational and finished second with a 15-under 269 at the Pac-10 Championships held in Tempe (63-66-67-73).
He also earned medalist honors at the 2009 NCAA West Regional and the 2008 Hawaii-Hilo Intercollegiate. He has played in 36 events in his career and has a 72.26 stroke average with a dozen top-10 finishes.
ASU finished tied for eighth at the NCAA Championships this year.
In addition, head coach Randy Lein has now coached 18 All-Americans on 40 occasions in his 18 seasons.
