Gal Nevo Sets New Israeli 200 IM Record

Sept. 6, 2007

ASU junior All-American Gal Nevo broke the Israeli record in the 200 IM this summer. Nevo set the bar at 2:03.13, besting the previous record held by Israeli Olympian Mickey Halika in 2002.

Nevo set the new record at the Israeli Nationals this past summer, where he finished first. Nevo also swam in the Paris Open this summer, reaching the finals of the 400 IM. Nevo has the fifth fastest time in the 200 yard IM in ASU's history and holds the ASU record in the 400 IM.

The Sun Devils begin their season at the annual Alumni Meet on Sept. 15 at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
