ASU Captures Two Top 10 Finishes at Stanford Invitational
STANFORD, Calif. -- The Arizona State women's cross country squad finished eighth overall while the men took ninth place at the 1997 Stanford Invitational. Mary Duerbeck and Ari Rodriguez led their teams for the second consecutive meet, each finishing 20th overall.
Duerbeck finished the course in 18:04 to pace the Sun Devil women in the 19-team, 142-participant race. ASU's Allison Had (18:47), Shannon Houseman (19:12), Kristin Hawking (19:22) and Kelly MacDonald (19:23) also earned points.
In the men's 16-team, 127-person race, Rodriguez (25:43) was followed by Andy Carusetta (25:52), Matt Repak (26:05), Ben Ervington (26:32) and Brandon Strong (27:33) counted toward ASU's team total.
