Arizona State freshman Carlota Ciganda concluded her play at the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International held at the Papago Golf Course in Phoenix. Ciganda earned the exemption into the tournament after shooting a 3-under 69 in the amateur qualifer.
Ciganda, who is currently ranked fourth by Golfweek and fifth by Golfstat, finished 12-over 156 (77-79) to finish tied for 118th. Ciganda is not the only representative of Arizona State as former standouts Louise Stahle, Wendy Ward and Brandie Burton made the cut for the third round.
Ciganda is not the only Sun Devil to have received an exemption for an LPGA event this season. Senior Azahara Munoz was one of five amateurs honored with an exemption to the Kraft/Nabisco Championship. Signed recruit Jennifer Johnson will also compete in the event.
The Sun Devils will host the PING/ASU Invitational next weekend.
