Arizona State men's swimmer C.J. Nuess and women's swimmer Caitlin Andrew have been named Pac-10 Swimmers of the Month for December, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Nuess, a senior from Medical Lake, Wash., currently holds the nation's fastest collegiate 400 IM time after winning the event at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. His time of 3:44.51 marks a new school record for the Sun Devils. Nuess came in second in the 1,650 free with a time of 15:01.63 putting him at third on ASU's all-time lists. In addition, he finished third in the 500 free (4:20.81) and had NCAA
consideration times in the 200 IM (1:47.63), 200 breast (1:58.93), and 200 fly (1:47.79). Those swims place Nuess at second-fastest all time, fourth and eighth, respectively, on ASU's all-time lists.

Andrew, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, helped lead her team to a first place finish in the 200 free relay with an NCAA automatic qualifying time and a school record setting time of 52.89 at the Texas Invitational. She also came in second in the 100 fly (52.89) and third in the 100 back (54.11). Andrew set her fifth individual school record when she swam the 200 back in 1:56.77. In addition, she recorded four NCAA automatic qualifying times and three NCAA consideration times.
This is the second monthly honor for Andrew and Arizona State's second women'sSwimmer of the Month honor all-time.
