Bradshaw, Blaha Dominate 1-Meter Finals at NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – On the first night of competition, Arizona State dominated the finals of the men’s 1-meter springboard with both Cameron Bradshaw and Constantin Blaha making the finals in the event, Thursday, at the 2012 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash. Arizona State was the only school to have two divers compete in the finals.

Bradshaw finished third in the nation on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 402.95, while Blaha finished eight-tenths a point shy with a score of 402.15 to place fourth. The Sun Devil duo earned a total of 31 points to put Arizona State in 13th on day one.

With their respective finishes, both Bradshaw and Blaha earn All-American honors on the 1-meter springboard. For his career, Bradshaw now has two All-America accolades, while Blaha recorded his fifth honor in the event.

Tomorrow, Bradshaw and Blaha compete on the men’s 3-meter springboard to round out NCAA competition. Last season, Blaha, a two-time Pac-12 Champion on the 3-meter, finished third in the nation in the event at NCAA’s.
