TEMPE, Ariz. - Continuing their tradition of some of the most innovative promotions, Arizona State baseball will be handing out baseball trading cards sets on Saturday evening and raffling off game-worn jerseys during Sunday afternoon's game at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
The first 600 fans in attendance at Saturday night's game against the Bruins will receive a complete set of the limited edition 2007 Arizona State Sun Devils baseball trading cards. The 36 card set features the student-athletes and on the 2007 Sun Devil baseball team. This is the fifth straight year that ASU has produced a baseball card set. Saturday's contest begins at 6 p.m. at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
Sunday's game will feature one of the most popular promotions in ASU baseball history, the 8th Annual "Shirt Off Our Backs" jersey raffle. 41 of the gold alternate jerseys will be raffled off throughout the game, one of each student-athlete and staff member. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the ballpark up until the first pitch of Sunday's game, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. Raffle tickets are available for $5 each, or five for $20, and all proceeds benefit the Sun Devil Baseball Program. Winners will be announced every half inning on Sunday, and following the game, every raffle winner will be invited down to the field for an autograph session with the players and coaches.
Known for holding unique promotions, ASU baseball celebrated St. Patrick's Day earlier this year by wearing green caps and socks, and has also held a post-game fireworks show.
